Ram channel dimm0 A1 not working!

28 Mar 2012

hey guys! I recently had a problem with my mobo sabertooth x58 and Corsair 2x4gb Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz.

After the last assemble, my mobo didn’t get the A1 channel. but all the other DIMM channels were working fine!

I tested my RAM sticks using other DIMM channels so I find out that they were working fine.  but if I put RAM stick on DIMM0 A1 at boot it shows only 4gb of a total of 8gb

And on cpu-z there was displayed 4gb on each DIMM channel so a total of 8gb.

And now the SOLUTION

first of all check mobo, sure to be undamaged. if there are sign of burns or something that indicates damage of mobo; in this case conact your retailer for warranty.

If the mobo is in perfect condition follow on!

1 – Now turn off the computer and unplug the power cable from PSU.

2 – Disassemble entire computer.

3 – Find the CMOS battery and remove it.

4 – Now find the CMOS clear jumper on mobo. (you can find it on motherboard manual) and change it to clear status.

5 – Finely check the all the pins of CPU socket if there are any kind of crooked pins try to set them in right position.

Now try if it works! it worked for me I think it was a crooked pins on CPU socket. Let me now if this little tip was helpful!
